Focus
David R. Cleveland is a founding shareholder of the IPLM Group, P.A.,
and has extensive international and domestic patent experience. His practice
primarily involves patent drafting, prosecution, and validity and infringement
opinions; agreement drafting and counseling; and expert witness reports
and testimony. Mr. Cleveland works mainly with large corporate clients
on matters involving chemistry, optics and mechanical devices.
Prior Experience
Mr. Cleveland operated a solo practice in Saint Paul, Minnesota from 1999
to 2002, and was an attorney in the 3M Office of Intellectual Property
Counsel in Saint Paul from 1979 to 1999. Mr. Cleveland's duties
with 3M included five years in Brussels, Belgium (1991-1996) as Senior
Intellectual Property Counsel for Europe, and three years (1996-1999)
as an Assistant Chief Intellectual Property Counsel with responsibility
for the 3M Transportation, Graphics and Safety Markets (TGS) businesses
and for intellectual property matters in Japan.
